The inspiration came from folding a simple piece of paper; the aim of the project was to reproduce this shape giving it body and resistance without losing the windiness of its curves. The pattern of the cushion recalls a zoomorphic shape, a living organism, animal or plant, parasite or symbiont, hugging the chair tightly, seeming to grow on it in contrast to the coldness and hardness of the metal. It feels that, leaving the room for an undefined time, one could at his return find the chair completely overgrown by this parasite organism, taking over the hard metal.
Tipping over the chair it turns into a side-table which also contains a magazine rack.

About the brand
The Atelier Barberini & Gunnell was founded by the architects and designers Francesco Barberini and Nina A. Gunnell as the result of a passion followed for a long period of time, creating artworks far from the industrial reality; one-off pieces and limited editions. The choice of the best and most precious materials, the maniacal cure for detail are the basis of their modus operandi aiming to create timeless pieces. Every artwork has its inspirational background, it’s story.
Gigantic Spiders as tables which pass by the forests of enormous Mangrove floor lamps, transparent, yet heavy glass Origami tables, Chained up tables which seem to revolt against the immobility of the four legs.
Abandoning the mere functionality and rediscovering emotions; from the warm perfume of wood, losing oneself in the transparent magic of crystal to the cold and sterile steel, thought by mankind for mankind, mirror polished symbol of progress.Barberini & Gunnell collaborate with the auction houses Sotheby’s, Bonhams, Tajan, Dorotheum, international galleries Priveekollektie, Ammann and private collectors. The bench Get Lost! in mirror-polished stainless steel, limited edition of 12, was selected by New York architect Peter Marino for the DIOR flagship store in London.
